FAQ: Analysis of Common Failures of Fuel Injection Pumps?
ERIKC Answer: Under normal wear conditions, as wear time increases, the frictional wear of parts with relative motion increases gradually. If the fuel or oil is unclean or of poor quality, its wear will increase, and even a short time can lead to the failure of precision pairs (such as the plunger pair).
(1) Cam wear of the camshaft of the fuel injection pump delays the oil supply time and changes the oil supply law. The wear of bearings and journals can cause the oil supply rod to shake, which can make the diesel engine speed unstable, affecting the time of oil supply and the law of oil supply.
(2) The wear of the supply rod and the bushing hole will cause the supply rod to shake, causing the diesel engine to rotate stably. In severe cases, the adjustment arm and the adjustment fork will be disengaged, causing the diesel engine to fly.
(3) Plunger head, stop ramp, and wear and return holes of plunger, so that the amount of oil supply is reduced and the injection time is delayed. If the wear of each piston pair is not uniform, the amount of oil supplied from each cylinder will be uneven, which will result in instability of the diesel engine speed. When the wear is serious, no oil is supplied.
(4) After the oil valve has been working for a long time, its working surface will be worn out. The areas with serious wear are the sealing cone surface and the relief valve belt of the oil outlet valve and the surface of the inner hole that matches with it. The wear of the seal cone surface of the outlet valve assembly will cause the oil supply to decrease and the injection time will be delayed. The wear of the decompression belt will make the oil cut off, the fuel nozzles will drip, the oil supply will increase, and the injection time will advance. This will result in an increase in the non-uniformity of oil supply to the knocking cylinder and each cylinder.
