Black aluminum oxide is made of high alumina bauxite, high iron bauxite or iron oxide scrap, melted and smelted at high temperature in an electric arc furnace and then cooled and crushed by Barmac or rolling mill. Its main chemical composition is aluminum oxide (Al2O3), ferric oxide (Fe2O3), and some silicon dioxide (SiO2), titanium dioxide (TiO2) and other components. The black aluminum oxide production process determines that the power consumption is lower than that of brown aluminum oxide, and the emissions are less. It is an environmentally friendly and cost-effective abrasive product.

The fine grits 70#-260# is suitable to polish stainless work pieces like stainless tableware knife, form, spoon, bowl, etc.., and suitable for sandblasting, to produce brake pads, etc.

Black aluminum oxide fine grits are traditionally used for surface treatment of various work pieces such as sand blasting, grinding, polishing, etc., especially for the polishing of stainless steel work pieces.

Its alumina particles is dispersed in microcrystalline state and surrounded by a slightly lower strength silica, similar to the structure of the stacked abrasive. So the brown aluminum oxide has advantages of moderate hardness, low grinding heat generated during grinding and polishing, and is not easy to burn the surface of the work piece. The surface of the stainless steel polishing by black aluminum oxide is uniform in color, showing the essential luster of stainless steel and no signs of burns.
